Our Mission Statement The mission of St. Paul's -Katy is to love the Lord and our neighbors - together in Christ - through worship, prayer, fellowship, service, and spiritual nourishment. |
| St. Paul is our patron saint. Paul, formerly known
as Saul, was a zealous Pharisee who persecuted the early Christians.
After a powerful and compelling vision of the risen Christ, Paul became
an apostle and one of the Church's chief theologians, writing about
one-fourth of the New Testament scriptures in the form of letters known
as epistles. The Book of Acts chronicles Paul's great conversion and his missionary journeys to spread the Gospel to new places and establish new churches. You can read about Paul in Acts 8:1; Acts 9; and Acts chapters 13-28. You can also read his great epistles such as his letters to the Romans, the Corinthians and many more. St. Paul is a perfect example of how great a change God can make in any life. Paul went from being an enemy of Christ to one of his chief advocates, and his conversion inspires us at this church in Katy that bears his name. Our logo, the shield with a sword and bible, is an image based on our Latin motto Spiritus Gladius, which means "Sword of the Spirit." This is the phrase St. Paul used to describe the Word of God, which we understand to be the Sacred Scriptures of the Bible. See Ephesians 6:16-17. |
