Into Deeper Waters: Stewardship 2027
“He said, ‘Come.’ So Peter got out of the boat and came toward Jesus.” – Matthew 14:29
Stewardship 2027 Letter from the Rector
Sunday, November 1, 2026
Dear Family of God,
The boat was safe- it was familiar, and it was full of friends. But Jesus was out on the water, and Peter knew that wherever Jesus was, that’s where he wanted to be also. So when Jesus told Peter to “Come,” Peter courageously stepped over the side and began walking toward Jesus.
That is the invitation before St. Paul’s this year. To step out and trust where Jesus is calling.
We know that like us, Peter experienced a bit of fear and trepidation, but his faith allowed him to step out of the boat anyway, trusting that the One who calls us, also loves us and will not let us go under! Into
You can experience that love everywhere at St. Paul’s: at the altar rail and around the font, in children’s chapel, in our weekly bible study, in casseroles dropped off after a surgery, and in the laughter that fills the Narthex on a Sunday morning. St. Paul’s is a community marked by love, and love that is real is never meant to stay in the boat.
I truly believe God has something bigger in store for St. Paul’s than we have yet imagined. In 2027, we are stepping into deeper waters together by strengthening ministries for children and young families, better telling our story and sharing our growing impact on the Katy community, as well as shoring up the physical and financial foundations for St. Paul’s future. To get there, the vestry has set a goal of at least a 25% increase in overall giving for 2027.
Thank you for your faithful giving to St. Paul’s. You’ve already stepped out of the boat!
This year, we invite you to go a little deeper: please prayerfully consider renewing your pledge for 2027 and, if you are able, increasing it. Please make your pledge by November 15.
There are three ways to pledge: go to stpaulskaty.org/stewardship, scan the QR code, or return the enclosed card in the offering plate or by mail.
Jesus is out on the water, and he is saying one word: Come. Let’s go together.
Thank you for making the ministry of St. Paul’s possible.
In Christ’s love,
The Rev. Hayden P. Paul +
Rector
